We had a fantastic day at Blackpool Zoo on Friday! We were all very excited on the coach, during the journey we sang songs and shared which animals we were all looking forward to seeing.

When we arrived we headed staright to the Education Centre where staff at the zoo taught us all about life cycles. From the life cycle of an apple tree to that of a kangeroo. Did you know that a female kangeroo is always pregnant?

At the end of the lesson there was just enough time to touch some animals. We were allowed to hold and stroke a hissing cockroach. They are not as scary as they sound, they don't even have teeth to bite! They make a sound of a snake when it is scared. Lots of children in the class were brave and held the cockroach, even Miss Whitehead and Ms Boyle!

After our lesson we ate our lunch and headed round the zoo as we wanted to see as many animals before it was time to get back on the coach for the journey back to School. Miss Whitehead was very excited when we saw the tiger cubs playing, as her favourite animal is a tiger. Damian enjoyed watching the sea lions swim and play, they looked like they were having so much fun.
